The Blue Jays are Getting Annoying.

I mean who do these guys think they are, honestly. If you ask me they’re pretty irrelevant. They snuck into the playoffs last year when they weren’t supposed to and then got slaughtered by Tampa Bay. Now they want all the free agents? I mean seriously, the Blue Jays are in on every free agent. It’s annoying and they should just give up because they have missed on every one of them so far.

I understand why the Blue Jays are trying to acquire big time talent. They have a young group of players who look like they’re ready to take it to the next level, The Blue Jays young group is probably a year ahead of schedule. Bo Bichette is quickly turning into one of the superstars in the league and Vladimir Guererro Jr. has all the hype in the world around his name. Teoscar Hernandez had a breakout year in 2020 and will play a big part in their team going forward. Personally I am not too high on their pitching staff, Hyun Jin Ryu is listed as the ace of their staff and I’m not sure how many more good years he has in him, Robby Ray and Tanner Roark will be quality starting pitchers but nothing crazy. Nate Pearson is the big arm that everyone is excited about. The young stud throws nothing but HEAT. It won’t be long until he becomes the ace of that staff. They’re still a big bat and a big arm away from being seen as serious contenders in my eyes.

Now, salute to the Blue Jays for willing to spend money in a time where every billionaire owner is acting broke. I think it’s hard for the Blue Jays to attract big time free agents to Toronto because who wants to pack their bags and move to Canada. Also, who knows if the Blue Jays even get to play in Toronto this year. They spent all last season in Buffalo and currently the Toronto Raptors are playing their home games in Tampa Bay. Do you really think someone like Trevor Bauer is going to sign up to play in minor league stadiums? It’s hard to believe any of the big free agents that the Blue Jays are trying to connect their names to are going to sign with Toronto over other teams that are closer to a World Series. In George Springer’s case, it's said that he’s between the Mets and the Blue Jays. Springer is from Connecticut, the Mets have all the big arms, Francisco Lindor AND they can pay him big money. So honestly, do the Blue Jays really think they have something that would make Springer want to be a Blue Jay rather than a Met right now? What about the Blue Jays is intriguing enough to get Trevor Bauer to sign. It's obvious that Bauer wants to go to a contender and the Blue Jays simply aren’t close enough. At one point the Blue Jays thought they could steal DJ LeMahieu from the Yankees. Why? Because Bo Bichette said that he thinks he’s the best hitter in baseball? Yeah, okay. The only way the Blue Jays land any of the top free agents that are still available is if they overpay them, which would be dumb. I honestly feel bad for Blue Jays fans (not actually) because the Blue Jays keep putting their names next to all of these guys when I’m pretty sure everybody knows that they’re not going to land any of them. Maybe a top relief pitcher because they overpay. So I’m asking the Blue Jays to stop connecting their name to every top player that's available in free agency or could be available in trades. It’s annoying to see and isn’t fair to your fans. With all of that being said Blue Jays fans, enjoy Kirby Yates. He’ll probably be your big signing. (Mets fans, don’t blame this article if Springer ends up with the Jays, it was probably because Jared Porter kept blowing up his phone.)
